Cerebral palsy – 'मस्तिष्क पक्षाघात' is the most commonly occurring deformity/disability in the world—nearly 17 million persons are suffering from it. Nepal has more than 70,000 CP cases out of which Purwanchal has around 2,500 registered cases. Morang has around 500 cases & Biratnagar metropolitan city has >125 cases.

The magnitude of the problem & the fact that no help was available for them led us to start this project. The CP day care center was started in Year 2012 with the technical support & guidance of SGCP, Kathmandu & अभिभावक समूह which takes care of day-to-day work of the center.

Cerebral Palsy is a permanent affliction and is non-progressive problem & most importantly, there's no known cure for it. The afflicted person has abnormal motor function, that is the person's ability to move & control movements is affected. The person may also have difficulty of speech, or controlling bladder & bowel function. Depending on the severity of the problem, Intellectual development may also be affected.
