In the form of vocational training “Mushroom Farming” training was started with a theory class followed by practical. Local villagers and the principal of the school helped us to organize the program.
Rajan Rajwanshi, who has acquired a diploma in agriculture farming was the trainer. Mushrooms in the first phase will be harvested in 35-40 days.
This initiative has had a profound impact, enhancing the women’s self-reliance and income-generating abilities. After 35 days the villagers are very happy to see the harvested mushrooms.
RC of Biratnagar Downtown also organized a 3 month sewing course as “Vocational Training” for 20 underprivileged women. From this training they will be able to support themselves financially as well as gain useful skills.
